When I record to my hard drive it is coming out as MPEG
how do i burn this to a DVD
They say I have to have MPEG 1 or 2

I have Slysoft and Clone programs as well as NTI CD&DVD Maker Gold

I have got a few good TV programs and some motorsport I would like to keep by having them on Disc (DVD)

When you record what to your harddrive? If you are ripping to your harddrive, they should be IFO and VOB files. If you are saving something and want to convert it. Try DVD Santa. It'll convert the MPEGS to DVD and then burn them for you.

try using NTI video dvd maker option cause you already have the mpeg files to use...

simply your avi files etc need to be converted to an mpeg2 compatible format before you burn them to dvd. However if you out put them to mpeg1 you will be able to burn them as a vcd or svcd format

Sounds like you are pretty new with this concept, I would suggest utilizing the guides section here. You can find the answers to pretty much anything you want to accomplish in step by step fashion. Good luck!
