whenever i try to convert a divx/xvid to mpeg my computer crashes after about an hour. the only program that doesnt crash it is dvdsanta, but i dont want to make a finished DVD. I have an old AMD700, is it possible to convert to mpeg2 on that?

There could be many possible causes (e.g. overheating). Do you have a program that can track your system performance during encoding?

Different programs drain different amount of computer resources. So if DVDSanta works for you, keep on using it. You can of course try out some other programs to discover more that work.

    Good luck!
