    hi can anyone help as a bit new to all this mpeg encoding etc etc.
    trying to put some photos into a slideshow using memories on tv version 2.1.8.
    can do it fine on cd but not on dvd.
    it says i need to purchase the seperate mpeg2 plugin.
    why? and does anyone know of a free alternative and where to get it from.

    I don't think photos must be in 'MPEG2'. "Still images" can be also in MPEG-1/VCD form.
    To keep things simple, you could, if you could use Nero (or many similar applications), put thousands of images in a CD-R. Just open the VideoCD screen and load all your images...you'll fit 800 MB of images in a VCD/CD-R, I don't think you have the necessity to record them into a DVD, and VCDs play in all DVD players (this is not what SVCDs do)...
