Question: both SVCD and DVD are MPEG-2! Buw which are its chracteristics? I mean:

    Resolution:
    DVD are 720x480/576 (NTSC/PAL)
    SVCD are 480x480/576 (NTSC/PAL)

    Framerate:
NTSC DVD: 29,97 fps or 23,976 fps
    PAL DVD: 25 fps
NTSC SVCD: 29,97 fps or 23,976 fps
    PAL SVCD: 25 fps

    Answer:
    1) if the type IS your system's compliant and it is a DVD movie, just 'author' it e.g. with IFOEdit (DVD --> DVD Author; load video + audio streams, once you de-mulriplexed the movie [MPG = MPV + MPA]) + burn the resulting files with e.g. Nero

    2) if the type IS your system's compliant and it is a SVCD movie, 'author' it, with DVDLab (see in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/) + burn the resulting files with e.g. Nero

    3) if the movie's type IS NOT your system's compliant you must have a 'multi-region' DVD player or re-encode the movie into your system's. Almost all PAL DVD Players play also NTSC movies, almost no one NTSC one makes vice versa.
