mpg movie file encoded wrong?

    got this downloaded file that doesnt want to play right. the progress bar moves way too fast, the video constantly freezes for a few seconds at a time, etc etc
    guessing whoever encoded this did it wrong.. what can i do to fix it, anything?

    i think this is just the problem of playback issue. ther are several mpeg codec in the system, and some players cannot select correct combination between splitter & decode. Try using MPC(media player classic). you can see what mpeg splitter & decodec are working and change one or both of them if you need.

    i dont think its just playback because when i try to add one of these glitchy mpegs to a VCD in nero recode, it only recognizes about 30 seconds or so of the file in the preview
