I have an mpg file that is 710 megs so it won't fit on 1 disk. Can i compress it, because i realy don't want to split it.
p.s. I tried winzip wich compressed it but i can't make a vcd out of a zip file

Are you using Nero? Open Nero -> click File and Preferences -> Expert Features and check the box "Enable overburn 'disk-at-once'burning"
Then put "Maximum CD length" 82 min -> ok

You can fit up to 800mb of Video on a 700mb CD-R when burning in VCD or SVCD format so the File will fit if it is only 700mb...

I tried this but nero says "not enough disk space for required Nero cache (required 1359MB, available 670 MB)."
Is Nero making my video bigger and if so how do i stop this.

I haven't used Nero in a long time, and never used it to burn VCD/SVCD but it sounds like it's complaining about the space on your hard drive to prepare data for burning. How much free space do you have on your C drive?
