MS WORD???

    my rom is screwed so i cant install my MS office cd and i really need word for essays at school and i cant find anywhere i can download it, and i cant put it on a flashdisk from someone elses comp and try putting it in my computor cause that doesn't work....any sugestions how or where i could download microsoft word from? or another real good typing program

    not sure..... but have requested thread be teleported to relevant forum in the meantime....

    edit- i'm sure students get concessions on software.. try google searching....

    I also have heard good things about OpenOffice.

    Lots of freeware on that site including.........RootkitRevealer! Would be too complicated for me, but will get some computer savvy persons to look into it.

    Open Office rocks!!!

    Unless your using some advanced feature of Word that oO doesn't support, which may or may not be the case, then download it, it's worth it!!

    I agree - Open Office kicks major booty. I don't need all the extra crap that MS Office has and OO hasn't given me one lick of trouble :)

    yeah thanks open office is working great, and all that bleep in ms word is pretty much useless and this is all i needed:) thanks

    i like Linux and stuff, but i didn't really use OO much yet.. i gt lazy when i'm at work :O

    We started putting OpenOffice on our systems for customers... They usually agree that we put it on for them to try, when we tell them how much Ms Office is! Thats the thing, so many companies and workplaces use Ms Office and people just get used to it and think that is the only one... And when they come to buy a personal computer they think XP has it built in! Oh well... OpenOffice gets 9/10 from me : )
