Ok so heres my problem: (Using XP laptop) (also zonealarm firewall)

I have scanned my computer using both CLAMWIN and AVG. Both of them delete/quarrentine - MSCONFIG, zclient(zonealarm), and even clamwin.exe itself. So it moved those files from its original place, and now I cannot - start < run < msconfig. (also messes up my firewall) I have researched and found where to place MSCONFIG, (C:\WINNT\servicepackfiles\i386 - and a backup located C:\WINNT\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries)

BUT on a laptop the folder WINNT does not exist, so where is MSCONFIG defaults location go on a XP laptop?

ALSO how can I get these anti-virus programs to STOP deleting MSCONFIG, and my firewall, and clamwin itself?! If someone could help me I would be forever grateful. Thank you for your time.

Laptop shouldn't be any different than a regular PC regarding file structure.

If your laptop does not have a "WINNT" directory then it must have a WINDOWS directory. So in your case the file might be under:
    C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries

If you have to, "borrow" this file from another PC since the AV programs are identifying it as being infected.

You can also download it from here:
