In MSCONFIG I get a mysterious blank process, " STARTUP ITEM " Tab Ticked (BLANK Startup) HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\CURRENTVERSION\RUN I regularly check msconfig to see what programs i don't need running... chris
I've seen this on several computers before. I usually uncheck it. However, if you want to get more information about it, you can run a program called Highjackthis (link here). It'll spit out a log file with a lot more information.
usually you don't have to have ANY of the programs that are in the MSCONFIG GUI because i shut EVERYTHING off in mine and it boots in less than 20 seconds and i have singal core AMD Athlon 3200+ (2.0 gHz) 2 gb of ram, and a 6150 LE intergrated Video card my computer in the world and i have it boot faster that my friends Quad Core
