Brand new to the site, and all I can say is that this place is awesome and very helpful.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone has toy'd with puting multiple movies on a single disc. If I'm thinking right, the movies would have to be shrunk (DVD Shrink) and then use the VSO software to make the front menu scene. Is my thinking correct? If anyone does this process, please let me know the easiest way to do it. Currently I'm using DVDFab to rip, so once I get the folder on the drive, I'm wondering what steps I should take from there to perform the task. Assuming that I can shrink down a movie to 700MB, I should be able to get 4 movies on one disc. Any thoughts anyone?

    Thank you

If you want to shrink and put 4 movies to a DVD, you need to convert them to AVI/Divx. Do you have a player that supports Divx playback? Or you were thinking about putting 4 movies on a DVD-Video, with a menu, and play in a regular player?

I do have a player that supports Divx playback, but I was also considering playback on a laptop, or other DVD player that probably doesn't support Divx. I haven't converted anything in Divx yet, so that's a new step for me. I tried playing with the VSO program tonight, and when I added one of my shows, there were a bunch of files showing up in the main window. So I figured that everything would have to be brought together into one file, then put the 3-4 shows into VSO, create the menu, and let it rip.

Try converting them to avi, then create your dvd using nero vision express. It even lets you customize your menus with pictures, videos, and background music.

If you want to play your movies in a player that supports Divx playback, you can use any of these free software to convert your DVDs to avi/Divx:

    StaxRip
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ers/staxrip.cfm

    FairUseWizard

    http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fai...ht_edition.html

    Freez Ripper
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/...VD-Ripper.shtml

    AutoGK. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd_to_avi_autogk.cfm

All free. And I am sure are not the only one. As for which is the best...don't know. never tried one, as I convert the other way, from AVI to DVD Video. If you search on the site, you will find guides.

After you convert them to AVI, you can put them on a single DVD, with menus, using paid software like ConvertxtoDVD, Nero Vision, or with DVD Flick -this one is free, and it works great. You dont get maybe as many features as you get with the paid softs, but like I said, is free and does a great job.
If you want to play them in DVD Players that do not support Divx playback, then you have to shrink them and put them on a DVD. However, if attempting to put 4 movies onto one single disc, I would get a DL disc. Don't see why, a blank DVD5 is not more than 25 cents or so...maybe storage space...Whatever.
