Hi folks... Here's my question: I bought a couple multi-dvd sets and then encoded the episodes to divx so that I can play them in my philips player w/o hurting the original discs. I have one DVD with 10 hour long episodes on it, and another with 12. For each episode, I encoded for a target size of 350Mb, which in every case gave me over 750k quality, often over 800--so everything looks NICE. It's also extremely handy to have an entire boxed set on one DVD for those marathons... Anyway, if you know about the Philips divx/dvd player you know it has a built in file browser. I'm just wondering if anybody knows a good way to give it a menu, either for PC or a divx player? I suppose I could an html page and link it and make an autorun.ini file... I dunno....any suggestions? ~Tom
For the PC, I use Macrmedia Flash MX 2004 to make the menus with actionscript, and then export a *.exe and make an autorun.ini file.
The .divx format supports menus. Assuming that the player supports it then it should work on both PC and standalone. You can grab some sames from the divx labs site.
:::wobble wobble wobble::: It does? Holy moley. I'm using Dr. Divx to encode...I'll have to check that out. Thanks!! ~Tom
Don't think Dr.DivX supports it, although I guess in the future it will. Think Roxio were adding .divx support complete with menus to one of their apps.
