hi, this is my first post here and am hoping you guys can help me out (",) im trying to convert 4 avi files which are around 347 MB in size into one DVD file using winavi video convertor, however, everytime i batch the files together it stops once the first file is converted and says that the file already exists and do i want to overwrite it? is there any way i can overcome this so that the avi files convert into one large dvd file enabling me to back them up on a DVD disc? i hope this explains my problem well enough for you to offer some guidance. cheers noob :=D
Use Nero vision Express to import all the video files whilst making a DVDVIDEO. Then it will convert and burn for you.
Is that the only reply? I dont trust nero because everyime it starts encoding, an error appears. the log files dont help much either. Id apprecieate it alot.
Use VSO ConvertXtoDVD. The files won't be merged but you will have a menu for each. Fast, easy and great quality but the trial will put a watermark in your video.
WinAvi is faster but not ages faster. Actually, I find ConvertXtoDVD to be quite fast, probably 1 hour to encode and burn an average 1 1/2 hour video. I have both and, while WinAvi is good, I uninstalled it. Try the trial and see what you think.
Nero is a great program. It is most likely a problem with your Nero. Needs an update or some other error, that is your fault not Neros. If you posted a log of a failed burn we could put you straight but otherwise it's hard to help with that one. I personally use WinAVI 6.3 (yes, that one IS stable) and NVE.
I know I won't be listen, but I ant to try anyway. Create a DVD on three steps: 1) encoding: AVI_1 ---> MPG_1; AVI_2 ---> MPG_2; AVI_3 ---> MPG_3; AVI_4 ---> MPG_4. 2) authoring (e.g. DVD Lab): load the four files telling the program to create a gingle DVD with them. You'll create automatically: video_ts.ifo video_ts.bup which contains the DVD information and some menu, if you make them; vts_01_0.bup vts_01_0.ifo vts_01_#.VOB (which is movie #1) vts_02_0.bup vts_02_0.ifo vts_02_#.VOB (which is movie #2) vts_03_0.bup vts_03_0.ifo vts_03_#.VOB (which is movie #3) vts_04_0.bup vts_04_0.ifo vts_04_#.VOB (which is movie #4) 3) Burning (placing all files in the VIDEO_TS folder of a DVD. Nero is what I use, for this. Dividing the 'DVD making' into these 3 steps causes that having a DVD containing 1 or many small movies is the same thing. You just have to tell the encoder how big the movies must be (and, therefore, to give your encoder the same information as if it encoded a single movie long L minutes, where [bold] L = L1+L2+L3+L4 [/bold] minutes.
Nice piece aldaco, not seen you around before... another mod! (Well, I know you're an older mod, but still ;-))
Thanks aldaco. Now I can use my WinAvi. thanks for the help. and thanks to everyone. I only use nero now moviewise only for vcd's but I still use winavi to convert to mpg1 from the avi format.
