I have several DVDR's (11 in all) of an old series that is not available on DVD. Unfortunately, the person whom I obtained them from did not put the episodes in order, and they are practically random throughout all 11 DVDR's. What I would like to do is copy the episode vobs to my hard drive in order of air date, recreate the menu, and burn them back to DVDR so that I have a complete set in order of air date. I'd like not to lose video quality be re-converting the vobs. Please tell me this is possible (hopefully!) and how I can accomplish this? Thanks very much!
It is possible, but there is so many tools that it is difficult to recommend on. Go on this site and look at Video Editors. You can choose what suit your budget. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-editors-basic
An easy way would be to use DVD Flick (free) or ConvertxtoDVD. The episodes are already in VOB format, DVD compliant, so all you do is put them in order, choose No re-encoding(since they are already mpeg2 DVD compliant) and it will create a nice DVD with menu. There are many other programs available, and many free, but I never used any so can only advise about the ones I have experimented with.
