There might be some stuff on the internet. Most artists/record companies want money for their music though. I guess anything over 50 years old would be free. Not sure where to get that stuff from though, I like downloading newer stuff.
use a search engine(e.g.google).any basic search engine will find you websites offering music for download.Also torrents and P2P networks will have music for download.

whats wrong with limewire? .. send the RIAA a list of what you download and where from... include your full name and address... and ask them how much royalties you have to pay.. gotta keep this all legal haven't we?
