Musicmatch ver.10.0 WINXP I have no problems playing cd's in musicmatch. However, I wanted to start my library over now that I know how to use it. When I deleted the first library album and the file location for the tracks that was ripped from a cd I made, I found that the cd will no longer play in musicmatch using the cd player. The cd player opens as it recognizes the cd but it won't load the music tracks. The only way I can get the cd to play with Musicmatch is to select file\open\my computer\cd drive F: But then it only plays in the 'playlist' window and therefor I'm unable to rip the tracks from the cd. Hope I'm making sense. Thanks, Dick
I don't know...but I'm in the same boat as you - exactly. I swear I used to be able to play cds fine in MM - now I can't. My audio cds (commercial) just show up as "empty" in my CD capable drives. I can see the tracks if, and only if, I navigate in MM through my computer, then the CD drive...but they don't even load into the player to play (much less be able to rip them). Did a full uninstall and reinstall of MM - no help. They play fine in Windows Media player. Something in XP perhaps?
I found a solution, at least it worked for me. Locate the file MMCDi.xml and rename it to MMCDi.bak. I found it here C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Musicmatch\MIM Shut down the computer, not restart, and then turn it back on and launch Musicmatch and try your cd's. Let me know if it works. Dick
Dick, Thanks for the info. Tried exactly as you suggested to know avail. After going back-n-forth with tech support, they finally suggested I go back to MM ver 9 with the following note: "This is a recently discovered issue in the current versions of Musicmatch Jukebox that our engineers are working hard to resolve. We are updating the release on our web page frequently and hope you will continue to check for updated releases for resolution to any issues you have experienced with our software. We apologize for the inconvenience." Incidently, they had me looking for the "MMCD.INI" which I don't have. I'll post if the issue gets resolved with an update to version 10 or with version 9 when I get around to retrograding. Thanks, Matt
