my avi files wont show video on my pc

    For some odd reason none of my avi files are showing the video ... I can hear the audio but theres no video ... I've tried windows media player, the new winamp, and two other media players that will work with avi files. None of the play any video at all ... I've tried this on both of my computers. Also ... In windows media player and winamp I get the visual effects where the video is supposed to be playing .. Another thing ... In windows media player, I get this error "Codec Download Error" and In winamp i get this error "Unable to download decompressor" ... Is there something I need to download to be able to play these avi files? If so what exactly do I need?

    You need to download DivX and Xvid codecs to play these files

    Thank You ... I just remembered that .. It's been awhile since I've played any avi movies in these pc's and the OS's have been reinstalled many times.
