MY COMP WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE BLANK DVD

    I need help? My computer will not recognize the blank sony dvd+R. After the dvd x copy program reads the dvd, then asks me to insert a blank dvd, i do. However it will not allow me to continue to burn the dvd. It wont even let me press the start button. Please help.

    are you sure you have a dvd burner and not just a dvd rom drive?

    What make/model drive are you using? Firmware version?

    its possible that you may have the wrong disks... like nephilim said.. post make and model of your drive you plan to burn on

    im not sure the make and model of the drive itself, but it is an IBM thinkpad, model t-42. It says it is a CD-RW/DVD-RW multiburner. Thanks for the help so far

    also, does anyone know if burning playstation 2 games is possible, and if it is how?

    you need to use -r discs. and yes you can burn ps2 games, you need some sort of mod for your ps2 though.

    thanks everyone for helping me out. Ill let you guys know if that worked. I was trying to use +R discs because the idiot at staples told me they were better. Also how do i go about getting this mod for my ps2
