well im not shure how this happend but one day i just decided to restart and it just stays off and my bios doesn't have a chance to even load anything .........but while in this state if i hit the reset button it will start up just like it should....and now i thought it might be my install of xp but i had to re-install anyway and so i did with vista even and it still does it, so i guess im just looking for some advice on what part of my hardware is responsable for this or is it just a setting in the bios ? thank's for anything
Please give a better explanation as to what the problem is. If I understand correctly, you are having problems when using your PC normally and choose to restart it by going to "Shutdown" and choosing "Restart"? Right? What exactly happens after it goes down and tries to come up again?
(thats right !) now normally i chose resart ( like say i installed something) and it will log off power down (then start soft boot) and my BIOS will auto detect everything and it starts loading windows but now it just restarts to the point where it should start displaying my BIOS's splash screen and then nothing my monitor says its factory defult " NO SIGNAL " in other words my monitor senses no vido output at this time .......this darn thing is getting to me ..lol
Did you mess with the resolution settings for your monitor, thats what this sounds like.Or did you recently install a Graphics Card.
No i have been using the O\B GPU and i never changed any settings on my monitor at all and thats a "ViewSonic VG151" it will support VGA aswell as DVI or both simontaniously but my board is only VGA .......so you think my monitor might have something to do with this not restarting ? remembering it cold boots but does not restart .
Hello friend, This does not sound like a problem with your monitor. If you know what you installed before the problem started then try removing that program. Also, if nothing else, try reloading the OS. You might also try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults and see if that makes any difference. Overall, don't let this get to you... you'll find the solution.
yeah these things get to me when i cant figure them out especialy something that seems so simple , but in responce to what you said, well i already reinstalled and have a dual boot of XP-PRO SP2 and VISTA ULTIMATE and also removed the software first ( well actually a sys resore) and still same thing so all i have left to do is reset my CMOS but thats no prob but do you think my O\C might have something to do with it ? because my AMD Scocket-AM2 x2 CPU came factory 2.32 and i have it presently at 2.60 but ill try that in just a bit here thank's
