I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem(I know it's a little vague, sorry) My computer keeps beeping at me when i try to log off of windows and shut down and it won't let me log off or shut down...i have to manually hold to power button down to shut it off(it only does it occassionally)and the screen flashes when i click on "log off"...any suggest? thanks
windows xp sp2....i run spyware detect and virusscan all the time and they haven't found anything so far...thanks for the advice...

Try exchanging your keyboard and mouse for another one and see what happens. Is there any other window open at that time as well?
ok...i'll try it...no when i go to close everything i make sure all of my windows are closed...usually it only happens every once in awhile..just really annoying...thanks for all the help
