Just bought DVDXCOPY PLATINUM w/ ripper online, and so far it gave me nothing but the coasters with quick button process. I need some help. What am I doing wrong? Spec: 1.7 GHz AMD 640 RAM NEC 2500A
it read dvd fine (10-12 min.) and then when it comes to write, 20 seconds later it spits out the dvd and gives me an error. I forgot to write the error down, but you can see that the media burned thin ring around the center. I'm using Ritek 8x DVD+R.
dolley777, Try using 2x Media as you are using media that is way to fast for movies. For data 8x might be good but this is a movie not a spreadsheet. Try doing the movie in simple mode and do not check the entire disk box. Go here and look on the left side under List and you will see DVD Writers. click on that and enter in your burner's model # and then see what other media others are using w/ that burner. http://www.videohelp.com/ As 321 will probably be closing down soon I would advise you to try other software to burn the movies. DVD Shrink along w/ DVDDecrypter or Nero will do more than Plat. and you do not have to worry about a blacklist
what's a black list? Also, I used clonedvd free trial (1 copy) to back up my kid's other dvd and that worked great. It took longer but the back up works great, and it was on the same 8x media. So naturally I'm confused.
Welcome to our little corner of the web - You wanted the Blacklist ? Here you are - when you get tired of XCopy like most of us have, stop back and we'll get you started with some free software that will do the same job quicker after setup than XCopy could ever do - Oooohh But I lest I forget myself, Here's your Blacklist: Blacklist The following programs can cause problems while using our software. Your situation sounds like one of these are installed: 1. B's Clip: This Program has packet writing applications and also tries to control the burner. To remove you must go to Add or Remove Programs in your control panel. For more information, visit the B's website at http://www.bhacorp.com. 2. Direct CD or Drag to Disk: These are applications from Easy CD Creator from Roxio. To remove them you need to do to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel. There you can select Easy CD Creator to change, not remove. Then you must click next until it gives you the option to modify. Then either Direct CD or Drag to Disk should be selected and changed to "make this option not available". Then click next and while the program may look like it is installing, it is removing those options. One thing to remember is that both Direct CD and Drag to Disk will not be installed at the same time. For more information, please visit Roxio's website at http://www.roxio.com/en/support.index.jhtml 3. GoBack: backup software that constantly runs in the background (Terminate and Stay Ready) this needs not only to be turned off, but disabled. For more information about both players, visit http://player.interactual.com/ 7. McAfee Anti-Virus: This is anti-virus software that when running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar. The 321 Studios software then needs to be restarted. Then whenever the customer is attempting to burn, McAfee needs to be disabled. For more info go to McAfeeís website at http://us.mcafee.com/default.asp 8. Norton Anti-Virus: This is anti-virus software that when running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar and the automatic update should be shut down via the Task Manager. The 321 Studios software then needs to be restarted. Then whenever the customer is attempting to burn, Norton Anti-Virus needs to be disabled. The Norton Website is http://www.symantec.com/ 9 . Veritas DLA: This program uses Disk Letter Assignment for backup purposes. Just the DLA portion needs to be removed, which cane be done in Add or Remove Programs in control panel. dolley777 Notice you are cross posting threads with your problem. You need to read the forum rules. Also notice you are getting pretty much the same good advice. The Blacklist mentioned is in actuality a checklist for 321 software owner's who encounter problems. I first saw the list as an item from 321 tier 2 tech assistance. They realized the biggest problems encountered with their software is interference. Here is the unabridged version as I first saw it: The following programs can cause problems while using our software. Your situation sounds like one of these are installed: [bold]1. B's Clip:[/bold] This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. You will need to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, then reboot to remove it. For more information, visit the B's website at http://www.bhacorp.com. [bold]2. Direct CD or Drag to Disk:[/bold] These are applications from Easy CD Creator from Roxio. This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. To remove them you need to go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. There you can select Easy CD Creator to Change - not Remove. Then you click next until it gives you the option to Modify. Then either Direct CD or Drag to Disk should be selected and changed to "make this option not available". Then click Next. While the program may look like it is installing, it is actually removing those options. For more information, please visit Roxio's website at http://www.roxio.com/en/support.index.jhtml [bold]3. GoBack:[/bold] This is backup software that constantly runs in the background (Terminate and Stay Ready) which not only needs to be turned off, but disabled. Unfortunately, this may cause some restore points to vanish, but it will free up a lot of hard drive space. For more information visit Symantec's web site for GoBack at http://www.symantec.com/goback/index.html [bold]4. DLA: Also HP-DLA, Veritas DLA, and others[/bold]. DLA stands for Disk Letter Assignment. This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. You will need to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, then reboot to remove it. [bold]5. InCD:[/bold] This is packet writing software that comes bundled with Ahead Nero Burning Rom. For more information go to Nero's website at http://www.nero.com/en/ [bold]6. Interactual Player and PC Friendly Player:[/bold] These programs are DVD software viewers that often come on DVD movie discs, and will try to install themselves everytime you watch a movie on your computer. Please make sure to NOT let these install. Both programs interfere with all 321 Studios software and should be un-installed from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel when found. In some cases, you will need to uninstall and reinstall our software to restore functionality after removing one of these. For more information about both players, visit http://player.interactual.com/ [bold]7. McAfee Anti-Virus:[/bold] This is anti-virus software that when running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar. The 321 Studios software then needs to be restarted. Whenever you are using our software, McAfee needs to be disabled to ensure unrestricted access to your drive. For more info go to McAfee's website at http://us.mcafee.com/default.asp [bold]8. Norton Anti-Virus:[/bold] This is anti-virus software that when running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar and the automatic updates should be disabled. The 321 Studios software then needs to be restarted. Whenever you are using our software, Norton needs to be disabled to ensure unrestricted access to your drive. The Norton Website is http://www.symantec.com/ [bold]9. StopZilla:[/bold] StopZilla can hinder required portions of our installer, causing the software to fail. Please completely disable StopZilla, then install our software. Once our software is installed, you may safely enable it again. If you have any difficulty using our software at a later time, you may need to disable StopZilla before going to use our software. Uninstallation is not required. [bold]10. MyStorageGuard:[/bold] This backup software can hinder certain required files from being copied during the installation. Please disable this program before installing our software, and have it disabled any time you go to use our software. Uninstallation is not required. [bold]11. Napster 2.0:[/bold] This software includes some basic burning software that can cause burning problems if it is running. You will need to close this program completely before trying to use our software. In some rare cases, you will need to completely uninstall this package to attain full reliability, so if disabling does not solve your issue, please try uninstalling this software, and try again. [bold]12. Easy CD Creator 4.x:[/bold] Due to the age of this package, it is no longer updated by the authors. There are bugs present in this older system that will cause NUMEROUS problems on your machine, not just with our software. Please Uninstall completely, and consider either the new 6.x version from Roxio (http://www.roxio.com) or Nero 6.x (http://www.nero.com). These packages, installed without the Packet Writing software (DirectCD/Drag to Disk/InCD), all work very well together with our software. [bold]13. NTI FileCD:[/bold] This program has packet writing software installed with it. This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start windows. You will need to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, then reboot twice to fully remove it. For more information go to NTI FileCD's Product page at http://www.ntius.com/default.asp?p=cdmaker/filecd_main [bold]Spyware and Adware[/bold] - some programs can install other software that can be damaging to your Operating System. Please scan for these programs with a Spyware utility. We recommend Ad-aware, available freely at www.lavasoftusa.com If you perform any of these changes, you may need to uninstall our software, then re-install to fix any damage left. If you find some of these packages, please shut down and reboot twice to ensure that the last pieces of the conflicting software are completely removed. Every version of windows requires updates. Another thing I've noticed is that Xcopy will not record all movies. Of particular note is animated movies, especially the Disney ones.
I'm having major problems with DVD X Copy Platinum v3.2.1.0: I tried reformating the HD. Disabled blacklisted programs, changed my power management settings, check the DMA mode, then installed the DVD X COPY Plat, installed the ASPI update. I can rip fine, but when I put the blank media in, the process finalizes the disk and gives me a coster. I tried two different types of expensive media and I still get the same errors I have tons of extra memory so that's not the problem. The weirdest thing is that the program works great when I use DVD RW media, but when I try a DVD R, it will give me writing errors...any suggestions? Thanks,
dolley777, Did you go to that site in my first post to check your burner and media to use. The reason I mention this now is that you burner might be a rare burner that only burns RW. What you might have to do is burn to RW ( since that works ) and then Diskcopy that movie on to a blank + DVD. Also I would suggest that you look into DVD Shrink and DVDDecrypter and Nero as alternative burning programs. I would suggest DVDrebuilder and CCE but I do not think you have enough burns under you belt. That last program can be a bit confusing to the new person to DVD Burning. I think there is a excellent guide on this forum that you might want to look at. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd_rebuilder_tutorial.cfm
Thanks for the tip, but its a DVD R+, RW+ burner. I've used R+ fine before. So I found the latest version of DVD X copy before the RF and I tried reformatting and then installing again. And after my latest reformat I can't install DVD X copy now. The registration key doesn't work. I emailed their customer support, with my license ID and password today. Does anyone think they will actually get back to me and unlock my License again?
Now I've got the software installed. But it gives me the same problem as v.3.2.1.0 once it asks for the blank media, I insert it and then it won't write the DVD.
