My explorer is chrashing _

    ok i was using virtualdub to re encode a movie, i chose a codec to compress in (cant remember wich one) but when i clicked save, my explorer crashed. when it auto rebooted it gave me this

    then when i press ok it gives me this

    then i press ok again, it crashes and reboots then starts all over again. can some one help me understand whats happening and how i can fix it plz.

    *ADDED*

    this now happenes every time i turn on my comp and if i try to browse fo anything, it crashes the program thats browsing. oh yes if i click the Ok enough times, the comp turns off >_<

    Next time, you should include the pic urls so we can ACTUALLY SEE what you mean...

    truly sorry. my browser crashed when i tried to upload the pictures then auto posted the reply. ive uploaded the pictures from my PS3 and updated the post above.

    Treat as virus/malware and look in the windows repair forums.
    It looks to me like a failed browser exploit, or a variant on the old blast virus. Have you ever tried to debug the thing, and if so what was the output from that.

    (strewth..I'm so glad I don't run M$ rubbish)

    thanks allot for the reply Janrocks, im not quite sure how to debug it but i dont think its a virus, u see i was reencoding .avi files and i picked this codec below

    and the second i clicked "Save as .avi" my explorer crashed and that window in my first post popped up popped up on reboot. oh and the file i saved is still on my desktop. i cant delete it and i think it might be contributing to the problem...

    ill try some virus scans and ask around. as for the debugging part u might need to help me with that.

    P.S. now did you say you don't run MS? so then your on linux i presume ^_^ (ive been meaning to switch for a while now but i have know clue how to use linux and i haven't had the time...)
