Hi, After my pc decided to pack in one day and being told it would cost £180 to repair the PSU I decided to have a go myself, this is my build list so far. Case: Antec Three Hundred (I have this already) PSU: Corsair 550w VX (also have this) MOBO: http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=609787 COOLER: http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=vendetta&x=0&y=0 RAM: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?OCZ-85R4G CPU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131950 VIDEO: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148468 HDD: http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=WD6400AAKS+640GB&x=0&y=0 CD/DVD: to be used from old pc I will play games but not of an addict nature! will be used for media conversion more, this spec could be totally wrong. just wanted to know if this all looks ok and is it better to wait it out a bit before buying because of possible seasonal sales if this happens at all with pc components. Many thanks for any help
It's a very good build, but I'd recommend using this RAM instead of the OCZ: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?CSR-X8542
ok great i will get those. Do sales generally happen on pc componets in the january period, or should i just start buying now?
PC components are never really "on sale" in the same sense as other stuff in this country, the things that drop prices are new component launches, and when that happens, do you make use of the cheap stuff, or save up to buy what's just come out?
