I uninstalled Windows Service pack 2 and then my computer restart and it loaded fine then min 5 minutes after its on it says computer is shuting down in 1 minute so it did then i turn it back on and it telling me windows config system file error please use orginal disc to repair well i put in the disc and im pressing R to repair the whole way to that screen and it wont work so then i download 2 other cd's and tried same problem is there anyway to repair or reformat now?
i cant reformat with the disc either it wont say boot cd at bottom and i cant get into any mode to do a system restore. before windows loading screen shows up it gives the error windows/system/config fiel is missing or corrupt. i cant get into safe mode or anything.
to reformat, try setting your bios to boot from your disc drive (with the windows disc inserted). post back and we'll see what we can do.
i get into that bios screen i dont understand what i gotta look for in there i never used that screen in my life.
goto bios features setup then set first boot device as cdrom, save and exit. now you pc will boot the winxp setup cd !!
yes, tell us how it went, and may i recomend dload sp2 from : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en download the "sp2" file save 2 disk,( and if you want, burn to cd) and install.(the sp2 file is bigger then in auto update, but is known to have less bugs during install)
