Ok yes I know this question is about retarted but I will ask anyways. Ok well then I have a Compaq Presario running windows XP and I have a question about the DVD writter, its an HP DVD Writter 300n and right now it will only burn to the DVD+R..and as far as I know it will only burn theses. I was wondering if there is anyway possible to make it compatable to burn the DVD-R CD's so that they will play back on the home DVD player. Patches, software downloads anything will be helpful. Thanks

Hey I reccomend you take a look at this page here
    http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=125463

If you are willing to crossflash your drive to an NEC 1300A, then it will let you booktype your dvd+R to dvdrom so your dvd player will read it better, and also add more support for dvd-r media!

If you want to crossflash your drive then use this
    http://herrie.rpc1.org/downloads/1x00/1300A/1300-10cf-t2.rar

When you have downloaded that read the release note!!

**there are dangers of crossflashing, ie, killing your drive, however, it can be done fine as long as you follow the instructions!**
