Well Ive back from a vacation, and also from buying my new computer!!so heres the machine: 1.Intel Pentium 4 (some people will say no!!!! lol) 3.0E 800Mhz FSB 12+16kb L1 cache, 1MB L2 cache 2.Asus P4P800-E DELUXE socket 478 AGP 8X. 3.Corsair DDR SDRAM PC3200 2X512 4.Artic Silver 5. 5.COOLER MASTER ICC-L81-U1 80mm Rifle Blue LED Light Cooling Fan/Heatsink . 6. 420 Thermalake PSU with dual fan. The other stuff is like LCD etc...So any recomendations?? do I have to add fans to the northbridge and south bridge?? because I have 5 fans on my case (Or I will) The cooler master ICC for the proc, The intel stock fan and heatsink for the (I really dont know) a little old pentium II fan (front of the case for airflow), the 2 PSU fans. I live in a very hot climate (30-32 degrees celcius all year long!!) so will I have problems with cooling?!?! the GPU has its own fan so I dont think I have to worry about that..or should I?? So plz any recomendations!! and no Im not going to buy any AMD or Dual core in the mean time(I already invested in this PC!!)..thanks for the help
Your cooling should be fine, but keep checking the CPU and mobo temps. It it gets a little warm, you can change out the stock heatsink and fan for the CPU. Also, make sure that you set the proper latency for the Corsair RAM. You can go to their website and get the settings.
cooling should be fine....you really wanna keep it cool, go invest about 100 bucks on a stand up air conditioner and sit that next to it, itll keep it cool all day long...
Ram latency I though those properties where automatically done by the BIOS! so do I have to change summ in the BIOS in order to achieve the proper latency?? do you recommend overclocking?!?
No, I don't recommend overclocking, but yes, for Corsair RAM, it is important to NOT let the BIOS automatically set the latency. Read my first post, in the following thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/136621
That sux why does corsair has this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone had used corsair with default BIOS setting without any trouble??!?!?? why it is not recomendable to OC?? Does this happens with other RAM Brands?? thanx
I just looked for my memory model and there are no latency info..just so u know I use Corsair 3200 VALUE RAM..so do I still have to configure If I use this type of memory?? thanx! PS: Can I use this ram in dual channel mode if my MOBO supports it??
i nuse corsair value select ram pc 3200, and i have two 512 sticks in there....i never messed with any latency settings, and ive never had a problem, as far as it rebooting without notice, errors, nothing..... so i dont know....but i never have and it works fine for me, and im on this thing 24/7
Thanx everyone..I Think I wont have problems with the value ram either maybe the problem is with the XTS..Ill inform how I do thanx very much!
