I'm using Fujifilm DVD-R media that I just bought at Bestbuy...... Man...this thing is slow. My computer is a new AMD athlon barton 2800+ with 1 gig of ram and a 80 gig hard drive thats almost empty. Any idea why this is taking so long? Oh...I used AnyDVD and then CloneDVD to burn it. Oh...when it was done...it took 1.5 hrs to burn!!!
I also have an A06 using a p4 3.2gig with 1 gig ram, the maximum time it takes me to burn a dvd is half hour. I use dvdshrink and nero express
nope...it was over an hour. I just burnt my second dvd this morning...it took just over an hour just to burn it. I had compressed it last night with dvdshrink. Anyone have any ideas?
Check that you have ASPI driver instlled and that they are the newest versions. If ASPI drivers are ok, check what IDE cable the drive is installed on. (Master, Master Slave / Secondary Master, Secondary Slave) its one of these. The IDE location of your DVD Writer can effect the performace of the drive!
just had another thought, what speed is the media? it would take that long to burn if it is only one speed. I am using 4 speed but once i used one speed it took 50 minutes.
Thanks for the help Koola..... I looked and my driver (I'm using XP) is the one XP provides....I havn't been able to find any new drivers to upgrade to (i'm using version 1.6 I believe). And my burner is set on IDE Master... I Just burned another DVD after saving it with DVDshrink this morning.....but I instead of the Fuji (Taiwan) disks I was using, I used the 1 Verbatim (singapore) DVD-R that came with the drive. It burned in 14 and a half minutes! It appears this 25pak of Fuji must be 1x media? I thought it was 4X when I bought it....but I can't find anything that says 4X on the disks. Well...problem solved I guess...now I gotta burn all these slow disks up...oh well. Thanks for all the help.....This website has helped me a lot getting started.
