Just those 2 LED lights! HELP!
Unplugg all the front pannel stuff, then short the two "power on" pins with something small and metal, it might turn on then.
I fixed it, the 24-pin adapter, for some reason the motherboard had the 24 pin iput, and the power supply let me used boht 20 and 24, so i decided to try it with the 20 and worked fine ! BUT now For some reason i can't see anything when it boots up! like i dont see the BIOS, or anything. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
Is your monitor plugged in to the video card? Did you run power cables from the psu to the video card? I believe it needs 2 cables. Have you checked to make sure the video card is mounted securely?
I would bring it in to a local repair shop. They should test out the PSU for free. I'm not sure why it would run with a 20 pin adapter and not a 24 pin that is designed for the mobo. It sounds like it isn't passing the POST. But I would use the 24 pin connector that the board was designed for if the PSU checks out. And do you have a speaker on the board or can you plug one in? Usually a new board comes with one you can plug in if its not built in. Then try booting it with the speaker installed and see if there is a beep code. And just thought of something. Is there is switch on the back of the PSU? If so make sure it is set to 110 volts. Just little things to check out.
Nah actually, I fixed it, just didn't want to post again to not double post. As i was troubleshooting i removed some of the cabling from the psu, i took out the 8-pin and forgot to put it back, now its running the post and it works all fine. Still curious though, why the mobo only works with the 20-pin though it's designed for 24-pin like you said.
