my pc has a lot of spyware

    my pc has a lot of spyware and I wanted to reinstall the system so that I would get rid of the spyware and still hae all the files but because I have the windows xp servie pack 2 and my windows on the cd is sp1 it says that if I reinstall I will loose all the data, I don't know what to do, I have over 300 gb of files and I don't want to loose it. If you have any ideas please share them with me.

    backup your files that you wouldn't want to lose on an external hdd. the best buy ad just came out for this week i think they or circuit city have a couple external hdd with mail-in rebates.

    I wouldn't go as far as reinstall everything before I tried to get rid of the spyware. Let's see how we can help.

    Go here http://www.hijack-this.org and download HijackThis 1.99. Extract the file to a location of your choice. Run a scan and save al log file. Post that log here.
