I have been having a problem with my PC when playing games. There will be times it is totally smooth, then it will become laggy to the point where it is almost unplayable. Then later it will become smooth again, and so on. My Processes are 69-75... CPU usage 1-15%... Is this considered a lot? I don't know if that is my problem or not... Could it be a undetectable virus? I have Avira Anti Virus... Please let me know how to fix this, it was never like this until about a week ago.
70 processes is a lot. i usualy have 25-30 go to start run msconfig then start up. uncheck everything you dont need. and are you using xp or vista? i would get avg free and do a virus scan and remove old programs that you dont use by going to control panel add/remove programs. you ight also try defraging your hard drive and cleaning your registry. all these things can help with lag. and what are your specs?
