Hi every body first of all I want to say sorry for my english, it is not very good second, i want to connect to pc's by a cross cable, I have connected them directly by the cable, then go to the proberties of 'My network places' by right click on the mouse and then choose 'setup a home or small office network' and follow the instruction. The operating system on tow computers is Windows xp sp2 I have an external adsl modem I have changed the ip's to 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.2 I have stopped the firewall The workgroup is the same at tow computers My problem is every time i have enabled the connection a message 'your network cable is unbluged' is appeared despite that i have tested it on a tester. what is the problem???? is there any help?? thank you very much.
is the modem connected to pc via usb cable or network cable? if via network cable than does that pc have 2 netcards? get a router as easier to setup with straight thru cable.
