My Soft Mod Promblem

I am trying to soft mod my xbox. I have downloaded a couple of different soft mods and downloaded them to my Action Replay memory card, then copied them to my xbox. The when i use MechAssault to load the file it says "Unable to load". All of the mods i have tried say this. Any help would be appreciated.

what i think it is though is your using a newer copy of mechasault.
i know that the newer agent under fire games are patched so that you cant do a softmod with them. maybe try an old original copy of the game. (rent it or something)

 

after reading on this forum last night, i read that the "Platinum Ed." games wont work, which is what my Mechassault is, so Im goin to GameStop today to exchange it for an original copy. if I have any more problems Ill post, thx for responding.

just buy splinter cell it saves alot of hassle and yes the platunum one works well it did for me

 

ok, I bought the original MechAssault today, and it still wont load my linux file. BTW if you know or have a good soft mod file can you gimme a link, cause I think it might be that too. so yeah ill go rent original Splinter

why do you even want to use the linux thingy?

the only softmod installer i have ever used was called Softmod installer deluxe v2.0. i used it on a buddys with no probs.

you need to have bit torrent stuff installed on your comp to d/l. (couple other useful xbox progs there too)

i think you should use that instead. (i only say that cause i used it months ago and it still works with no probs.)

Wrong place for that. you basically just butted in on a conversation with a question that is easily answerd with a bit of research. im not bitchin at ya, just lettin ya know, cause some ppl here will get mad.

u need the game to execute the installer.

 

Alright its me again. Another Problem but bare with me. I got the first splinter cell and the linux file i got for it is too big for my AR memory card, unpacked the file is nearly 9 MB and i guess thats all AR looks at is the total size. So can someone give me a link to a Linux file for Splinter Cell thats smaller than 8 MB. Or give me a suggestion to make the file i have small enough to fit the card. any help is appreciated.

im afraid you probably know more than me about all that linux stuff, so im not much help when it comes to that.

question for you though. what is your main goal in modding your xbox?
(do u just want to play burnt media or use your xbox as a web browser, whats your main objective?)

The memory stick thing ill have to try as to why i want the mod "?" Its kind of a noob answer so ill just say anything and everything i can push it out for. Im gonna go try the Memory stick thing. Ill post sometime tomorrow.

O and just for the Records of soft mod. what is the Rain file? Is it important cuz i havent seen it on any other soft mod file. If i was to delete it what would happen?

I think you mean raincoat and i think it has something to do with bios, and if so you cannot delete it.

i really think you shoul just use Softmod installer deluxe v2.0.

 

I agree,use an auto-installer...sometimes though Action Replay corrupts gamesaves,so I used a USB memory stick...well,it will work if you have an adapter for the USB,I forgot about that.

Yeah,I took for granted the adapters I have lying around here from my Xenium chips...or was it because of the beers I had earlier lol

Sounds like you're unzipping the file. It's not meant to be unzipped when you put it on your Action Replay, which is why your gamesaves are probably not working. You have to put the original downloaded zip file onto the Action Replay and copy it to the Xbox and it will work...
