My top screen is broke on my ds console not ds lite,

    Hi can anyone help ive today changed my shell on my ds console and since putting it back together all i get is a white light on the top screen to bottom one works fine and so does the sound so power is going through ok im guessing ive knocked a wire or something but not sure could anyone please help.thanks Paul.

    For a ds is can be the screen, but as you have just changed the shell, I suspect the cable has been damaged. Order a new ribbon cable and that should sort it out (if the connection was bad the DS would not normally boot up.

    dealextreme.com , a bit of a wait (3 weeks) but only a few dollars with free postage

    hi thanks for your help but what is the ribbon cable for and same for the black one ? i guessed it was one of them but didnt know which.

    hi again ive just been on dealextreame and it seems like there are a lot of ribbon cables which one do i need.

    You said it was an original DS and not even a Lite? I'd say since it's going to be 2 generations old in a couple months anyway, take any money you might need to spend on parts fixing this one and put it towards a DSi. Or alternatively you could probably buy a DS at a pawn shop for 20 bucks. I got a DS Lite for $40.

    There is only ONE ribbon cable for the Nintendo DS that is sold stand alone.

    All other ribbon cables are attached to their screen components.
