I was wondering if this is true Nagravision 1-3 CAM on offer EBAY any advice where or type box you need to purchase to work with CAM - new to this do not know very much about CAMS any advice much appreciated Person selling this CAM states will work on UPC 1-3 in Ireland
Cardman UK Are selling this CAM for Nagravision 1,3 or on EBAY you can bid for them the are not ESPN also I need to know what type of box this card willslot into or work
he states UPC in Ireland, but, they aint on sat, the CAM he is selling has been around a while now. waiting on a word back on something
I can't find it. Just found it. As Mickah says they say it clears quite a few Providers who aren't even on satellite so would be very wary about this.
Cheers man. Never came across that before. Wouldn't hold out much hope of it working myself. Do you know anyone that has tried to use one of these?
it seems to be like the CAMS that are about for Sat, guy I asked says you put yer card into it, but UPC etc aint on Sat, so what in essence he is saying is wrong. I have a slot on my TV for a cam, but as we dont get anything down the cable apart for UPC, it wont work
It doesn't mention Sat though on the listing on ebay and says it will open all variants. Says only method it doesn't work on is Top-up TV which is DTT. Is the slot on your TV for DVB-S or DVB-C? Edit - If this actually worked it would be everywhere by now and everyone would know about it.
Curious to see what would happen if you stuck that into a DVB-c TV or receiver and stuck in your official card what would happen. Edit - It does say it marries your card which would make sense.
Here is what you need to know about this CAM: - Yes, it will open Nagr@1-3 but as a previous poster said.....you still need the official paid subscription card to put in the CAM (ie similar to the cards used in the current Sky digibox etc etc) - The CAM will fit in many satellite set-top-boxes with a CI (Common Interface) CAM slot. The most popular box would be the 'Technomate 5400CI & USB'. Hence you need a dish pointing at the correct sat. - UPC is available on Sat but it is nothing like the UPC cable in Ireland. It is labelled UPC Direct and can be found on the Astra 1H Sat at 19.2 degrees East. There is no such channels such as sky sports/sky movies on this provider. Please see here http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/upcdirect.html. So basically what this offers to users is the ability to use a different set-top-box. Most Sat enthusiats feel the boxes supplied by providers are crap hence they like to obtain thier own with more user friendly interfaces and menus. Bottom line is you still have to pay the subscription every month.
aye thats where he is wrong mate, the nagra cam he is selling is for using or pairing with a Nagra card,
