It's called Digial Rights Management (DRM). When you download from Napster, iTunes (heaven forbid), Walmart, or any other places you can legally download from, burn them to a CD-RW, right from the site. You can then rip from the CD-RW, to your hard drive, in wav format, and erase the CD-RW.

After you have downloaded enough music, that you want to use to make a CD, you have the wav files on your hard drive that will work.

Of course it does. Why do you ask. You pay to download music from any of those sites.

I know what you are doing. I told you the way you have to do it to be able to use that downloaded music to burn to a CD.

o ok I understand know so even though I have already put the songs on my harddrive the only way to burn them to a disc is to purchase them.

Yes, unless with that free subscription, Napster allows you to burn them directly to a CD, from their site.

You are welcome, but it makes the free year subscription somewhat bogus. :(

yea it does make the free year subscription somewhat bogus but atleast I got the mp3 player with it to load them onto that so that kinda makes up for it
