As some of you may know, there's an American election comming up, and if you're an American or watch American TV you are innondated with adds on the subject. Anyway the new target voters this year are the so called "Nascar dads". You know, guys who watch Nascar and had sex at least once. Am i the only person who thinks this sport is dumb? It reminds me of a hamster on a hamster wheel just running in circles over and over. I'm not trying to offend any American poster here, but c'mon, it is not a sport.
NASCAR is a strange thing in which people are either a rabid fanatic or they just don't get the entertainment value in "go fast, turn left". I fall into the latter category myself. I'm sure it would be much cooler to see it in person and hear/feel the cars roar by, but watching on tv I don't get. I am a total nut for international rally racing. Now THAT is racing! I also get a kick out of the local "Friday Night Drags" where people bring whatever they own and race against others. The coolest one was a full-size Dodge diesel 4X4 extended cab with a truck box on it pulling a 13.75 in the quater-mile. He beat every camaro and mustang that raced him that night. im from new york- and if you are going to watch racing, watch off road or monster trucks- those are cool- nascar is like watching a fast work commute BORING
I whole-heartedly agree!! NASCAR is the dumbest thing i've ever seen. but when i was little in the 70's and they actually ran "stock cars", it was great. now they have a ford taurus, i'm sorry but that car is front wheel drive! how can they even come close to saying what they have on the track as a ford taurus is even close to stock. and what kind of racing is it where every car has to fit the same template??! it's just a big 2 hour commercial as far as i'm concerned. remember when the only racing sponsors were car part, beer, and cigarettes? thast when it was good racing. what the hell does viagra have to do with racing? I can wait till the massengill car comes out!! or the tampax tampon car comes out!! what a joke. NASCAR is for people that can't understand the complex nature of F1 and Rally racing.

not fair though man, I'm american and have been an F1 fan since i knew what racing was. I have twin girls and their middle names are Senna and Mansell. PLease dont "lasso" me in with the rest of these idiots that drink budwieser and wash their clothes in tide just because it's on the side of a so-called race car. in addition to my comment above, by god if you touch wheels or "trade paint" as they say at 200mph, something bad should happen!!!!! not just bump into each other and keep going. I dont see any excitement in it at all. but on the other hand, any F1 fan can see where a normal race fan could be bored by watching F1 if they are just looking for action on the track. So i can see why they wouldn't understand it. F1 is much more than just "on the track". Nascar fans like the thrills of a bunch of huge boat-like cars sliding all over the track when they wreck. F1 fans know that any contact or slight flicker, or mechanical failure at 200mph could easily mean death. So i suppose we cant blame them for liking what they like. We just have to be satisfied with the fact that we watch real racing instead of commercials **this is not intended to offend any nascar fans in any way. If thats what you like, great, i hope you enjoy it. If you dig it, thats all that matters. You guys know all us F1 fans are just stuck up snobs anyway
i love f1 racing and off road racing is also fun to watch. but nascar is boring and stupid- they are all the same car, the same design on the same stupid track, theres no difference so there too evenly matched. im not trying to offend europeans, but you guys need to come off your high horses and relize that most americans arent the sterotypical picture that you think.
I apologize if any of you were offended, i'm not trying to put Americans down, hell i have family in the US, i don't like them, but it's not because they're yanks. Anyway i just don't like the idea of "driving a car really fast" counting as a sport. End of apology/rant.
NASCAR would be good if a Monster truck or a large semi truck was on the track. Now that would be funny. I am much more of F1 and offroad watcher. NASCAR is just sad!!
monster trucks are awesome, because the trucks are all different, dont all have sponsors all over them, and its really fun to watch.
Get a whole bunch of NASCAR`s and a large truck and now you have a new compition. How many stupid cars can you kill. Always good to watch.
F1 is clearly better. Any sport where a teammate will pull over and give the "race?" to his teammate is clearly much better "racing?". NASCAR is so bad because every race any one of the drivers actually has a chance to win. I much prefer to watch a "race?" where 1 guy wins half of the races and only 3 have a realistic chance to win each week. And having over 100 passes in a NASCAR race is annoying. I much prefer a less competitive less exciting race.
NASCAR is truelly the lamest most BORING mind rotting 'sport' ever to be allowed aired on TV besides football and basketball. Fox should be sued for allowing such crap to be aired oh wait Fox only airs crap as it is! I say if Nascar fans want to see Nascar on their local channels then get rid of the Speed Channel/Network and ESPN! Take over My FOX for 4 hrs to watch the same cars go around in circles for 500+ laps when I could be watching the Simpsons damnit!
I hate Nascar. So let's see, so far 14 say Nascar blows and/or F1 is better, and one guy wrote a sarcastic post that, after being confused for a sec, I realized might be in favor of Nascar. I'm counting that as a concensus!
I think NASCAR rules!!!!! Except when #8 Jr wins, I think he is stuck on himself! Watching racing is not stupid or boring I enjoy it myself! NASCAR ROCKS!!!
i just had 4 hours of dental work done, i'd rather go back for 4 more instead of try and sit thru a nascar race.
i agree- its so boring- i much rather just bbq and have some drinks with my friends watching a real sport like baseball or (american) football. (or the occasional satelite soccer game!)
