I found this neat trick by accident. Thought other users could make use of it. DEBUT does not have a tab for dvd input as a choice. however if you leave the app selected to "SCREEN", it is a simple matter of opening the app, start recording, minimize app, open VLC or POTPLAYER and either/both can play and record what DEBUT sees on the screen. a short shot of the desktop will be followed by the disc content. Recording time in all 3 apps are limited only by the hdd size. debut records in AVI unless changed in OPTIONS each time it is opened. DEBUT and VLC can be superimposed or one or both minimizes or pinned to system tray. Tried it tonight. Very easy to record a/v in both and find saved recordings in both. VLC CAN record from disc through the MEDIA tab. Both can record from external sources using a capture device. Waiting for mine to see if one or both detects it. Hope this helps others.
