Ripping is going well, this is an awsome site, I use decrypter, than DVD2one than Nero 6. but every now and then the last few minutes of a movie go heywire??? how can I fix this - Im pretty sure the problems with Nero?? any help would be great. Thanks
Your problem is probably down to poor quality media or maybe your standalone is not liking the outer circumference of the disc..... You will get more error correction towards the outer circumference - thus giving you skipping/freezing etc.... Stick it in your PC, bet it plays all the way through without a hitch..... If it does, then you know Nero is burning well, if it does not, play the backup from the HD first before burning, if it skips then, you know it is the source, if it does not then, it maybe a burning related issue (but I would be surprised if it is)...... If you are using Dvd2one set it up for 4440Mb and variable compression and see if this improves it.......also what media brand are you using, it may well just be down to low quality media..... Hope this helps.....
I think BaaBaa is right when he said a media problem. You may think of getting some Ritek Media instead. As he also said the less quality the media, the more likely errors will occur at the very inner edges and near the outer ones.
I am using RITEK discs and have backed up about 120 movies perfect but about 1 in 5 the last few minutes go all over the shop!! I did play this movie on my computer and it did lock up in the same place!! but when I played the last VOB file on the HD it was perfect????
Computers will always read discs far better than standalones, unless you are using DVS loaders in your standalones. You keep saying you are using Ritek discs, but Ritek discs come in so many forms. Im asking you to be specific. What are htey - datasafe, datawrite, ridata, arita, traxdata, clone disc, unbranded, etc............
Buy them form a reputable dealer. BUy Clone Disc and Traxdata to be sure (from a good dealer again) and be cautious of the Datasafe ones. Check the manufacturing code and maybe someone caln tell you. You can also run it through DVDInfo.
Ritek are good! Datasafe are ok if you don't burn upto the end of the disc. Make sure you you keep a file size of at least 4.4GB, then the last few minutes will be ok!
2 questions, how do I run the disc through that program to see what sort of disc it is or where do i get that program?? also how do u change the file size thing on DVD2one?/ hey thanks for the help guys!!
You can get the program off afterdawn. You run it through it by putting the disc in the drive and double clicking the icon for DVD Info
I think you need version 1.1.2 and over... Select user defined 1 - alter to 4440Mb or a little less. Select variable compression....
