Would you recommend the NEC 3500A if it was my only DVD drive? Have the reading problems the older 25xx models had been fixed? Because I could also get a Pioneer DVR-108 if it hasn't.

I have no errors reading from my NEC ND 2510A at all... but the Pionner DVR 108 is just a hare better so I would get that one.

    Hi agent_j
    agent-k here.

I would go with the Pioneer 108.
I've never tried the NEC drives.
But having had various Pioneers (even the 1xspeed 103) they have never let me down and the burn quality has always been excellent.

2005 i have just checked out your link which current 62 votes have gone in so far with NEC taking 59% of the vote so far.I peronally have had experience with NEC Pioneer Lite-on Phillips and LG to be honest i have found them all to be good drives apart from the LG.Last Pioneer 104 and my latest drive the NEC 2510A.You can't really compare these drives as the Pioneer is a older drive.I have found both to be good drives i just felt like a change and the NEC has not let me down.
