    Hi,

I have a NEC 4570 which burns dvd's very slowly so I followed the excellent advise in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038. and unfortunately I cannot still get it to work :(

My NEC 4570 dvd rw is on the primary controller so I uninstalled the drivers as for Device 1 it stated "PIO only" and then rebooted system...I then check to see if it said DMA avaiable and it didnt so uninstalled the drivers for the actual CD/DVD drive in device manager...

Rebooted the system on each occasion and then burnt a dvd which took forever. I also checked Nero Info Tool and noticed it says "DMA off" now I know it should be on as stated in the thread above....But it wont turn off despite having following the instructions in that thread down to the last word...

I thought it may have something to do with the fact the NEC DVD RW is on primary controller and not seconday so wondered if I should swap the IDE cables around? Can mobo's really be that picky?

What am I doing wrong? Please help?

    Thanks in advance...

    Cheers!!!

did you leave the 2nd hd as master when connected to primary cable as it should be jumpered as slave with the c:drive as master? what is the rom drive jumpered as?
