I have the above drive (NEC ND-1100A) (D:)in a brand new Dell 2350 that suddenly quit recognizing any disk of any kind. Something weird, is that this is the only physical drive in the machine, but some driver or program added another logical (E:) drive called DVD AXV CD SCSI CD-rom or something like that. Basically another logical DVD drive. Dell says that should not be there. Dell is replacing the drive, but has anyone seen this, and could Nero, or DVD2one, TMPenc or any other ripping program be implicated?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Daemon Tools, which mounts image files as a virtual CD/DVD-ROM, adds a "Generic Stealth SCSI CD-ROM". Maybe you installed a similar program?
