NEC ND-1300A writing speed/time problem

    Total time is round 40min no matter what media I use or what speed I write its still the same problem.
    Tried to use CloneDVD with 4x & 2x speed, Nero 6 with 2.4x & 4x speed but the result is still about 40min. Nero anyway showed approx time about 23min but reality was 41min.

    I updated Firmware to 1.08 but there was no difference at all.

    Operating system is WinXP.

    how much memory do you have. I have 256meg and if i don't restart my computer before burning, it takes about that long at 4x.

    512MB RAM, should be more or less enough I think.

    I'm currently waiting to receive the NEC drive thru the post, but i'm worried now that my 900MHz Athlon with 384MB RAM might not be enough. What does anyone think?

    no problem with that, my problem also were only because I had it in wrong cable.

    it nonsense if someone says your comp has too little memory or something
