I am using NEC Optiarc DVD RW AD-7173A and the label of the DVDs is taiyo yuden.I burned some dvds with it and whenever I try to read them the following message is displayed:windows cannot read from this disc. The disc might be corrupted,or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows Although, when I read them with a samsung dvd rom everything goes alright.I have also done a firmware upgrade to my nec dvd rw
Some burners are just better "readers" than others. I have an NEC and and BenQ and have had instances where the BenQ would read discs that the NEC would spit out.
I also tried Smartbuy label and the same thing happens.. Do you think I should keep trying different types such as Verbatim and TDK?
I feel sorry or maybe Nec must feel sorry because I have to reject taiyo yuden as I said before. So the only thing I have is to to try the Verbs....
