need a player that supports surround sound

    i have a soundblaster live! card and 5.1 system set up... it works fine in games and when i test it but the software it came with (creative player 2.0) plays my mp3's back like crap... it has popping noises in it... now that just cant be happenin... so i use winamp or media player, both playback fine but not thru the rear or center speakers... any ideas on freeware progs and where i can get them... and retail progs too

    any help is appreiciated

    A soundblaster live 5.1 will not play back true surround sound in Dolby Digital format.
    It may sort of play Dolby Surround.

    As for freeware apps, no idea.
    WinDVD or PowerDVD will play back DD 5.1 if hooked up to the correct hardware though.

    yah.. i dont really need full surround sound capabilities... i jsut want the sound to come out of the rear speakers... the same as the front left and right... and then a center channel which would be liek the right and left togetehr... i know theres gotta be some kinda prog out there capable of this

    WinDVD, PowerDVD, instantly spring to mind.
