Hey guys, i have some avi files that I would like to burn onto a DVD. Now currently i use neroVision Express to burn the avi's (without a problem) but i often find it takes quiet long to burn a 3-4GB dvd disc, (around 1h40minutes on 2x setting). Is there any other way to keep the video quality and reduce the burn time? (possibly another program? i tried dvdSanta which worked well, but now it crashes whenever i want to create dvd.) Thanks guys, Alex
Hi big89alex Is the 1 hr 40 mins total time w/ Vision (transcoding & burning) or is it just the burning part? If it's for the whole thing that's about right. You could increase the burn speed to 4x or above depending on your burner and media - would save maybe 10 mins.
thanks, yes 1h 40 is the whole time... i guess i cant really decrease that to about a hour 10 without increasing speed...
Yep most of the time is in transcoding the file(s) to be dvd compliant to play on a dvd player - actual burn time is much less of the total. If you have a good 'newer' burner and using good media take the burn speed up a few notches and see how it goes. 8x has been my minimum for quite a while and no problems in quality or playback.
