I want to rip DVD to Mpeg1 and then burn to CD-R as VCD. I follow the DVD2SVCD with subtitle guide. The SW is DVD2SVCD and TMPGEnc. After running DVD2SVCD (including ripping & TMPGEnc encoding), I have the Mpeg files. But my VCD brning SW does not recognize the Mpeg fils. I have to use TMPGEnc to encode the Mpeg files one more time. The files from 2nd encoding is a few KB bigger. My VCD burning can sucessfully take the Mpeg1 file and burn to VCD. Did I do something wrong here? Why do I need to run TMPGEnc twice to get the Mpeg1 files that my burning SW (Sony B's Gold) will recoginze? Please help. Thanks.
If using DVD2SVCD to convert a dvd to vcd, then enable VCDXBuild located in the CD Image tab folder. Be sure that you have an additional 2.0 gigs for the creation of bin& cue files. When all encoding is finished, simply load the cue file(s) and burn no faster than 8x. Shoey
with dvd2svcd to make a vcd, you need to load the vcd settings 1st so everything ties in to vcd. Now you can use dvd2avi and tmpgenc to do it also. see http://entiendo.gotnet.net
If converting to VCD using DVD2SVCD, change the output file file size type(Misc. tab folder) to VCD load your ifo file and choose what encoder you desire. I've heard TMPGenc seems to be the preferred choice for converting to VCD format. Shoey
