Don't know if your doing this but Nero dose that to me when I try to go online and use nero I get a message burn failed or when I dont use AD-aware it freezes up on me. I don't know that much on burning but try it.

    ses,
Have you updated Nero? Try Ritek G04 or Verbatim. What program are use using to compress the DVD w/? Burn process error could be because of cheap blank disks or you did not configure the compression correctly. I'd de-frag my HD to see if that helps

    ses ,
DVDDecrypter does not compress. You have gotten DVD Shrink and DVDDecrypter confused. Your problems might be because the DVD writer is incorrectly setup or your computer is going to PIO Mode. If the programs are setup correctly and the computer is setup up correctly you should have no problems

i have been doing a clean up, and accidentetlly deleted nero 6, which is the best way to get it reinstalled without having to subsrcribe.

yes the dvd shrink kept freezing,is something to do with the setup being incorrect, why.

To re-install Nero you use the registration ID that either came w/ your disk or the one the that Ahead Software issues you when you bought it. If you can not find it and you have a registered copy w/ Ahead e-mail them and they will send you the info.
If you are cleaning up the HD do not forget to de-frag the HD. Then uninstall DVD shrink re-boot and then re-install Shrink.
Look at Veblin's post and the guide is there on how to use Shrink. If Shrink has a problem decrypting the DVD then use DVDDecrypter first to decrypt in file mode and Shrink second to compress the file.

The movie usually freezes up because of inferior blank media. Below is a guide to use DVD Shrink and Nero. Do exactly what the guide says to do and you should have no problems unless it is your computer system that is causing the problems.

Set Up Guide for DVD Shrink using Nero

1.Make a folder on the Desktop and name it Rip Movies
2.Put DVD Movie in your DVD-Rom or DVD-Writer
3.When Windows asks if you want to play movie hit cancel
    4.Open DVD Shrink

    Setup Shrink

1.Edit>preferences ( you can look at it if you want to but it is already setup)
2.File I/O> Burn Setting check enable burning w/ Nero
    3.Click O.K.
4.Open Disc- click it ( Shrink will do quick analysis )

    Copy Movie Only Method

    1.At top click on Re-Author
2.Main Movie – Drag title to the left side

    Compression settings

1.Audio- uncheck the audio you do not want
2.Subpicture- uncheck any you do not want
3.Video- Where it says Automatic Ratio click to Custom Ratio( at the top you will see a Green Bar. Right below where you clicked on Custom Ratio is a bar. Move that bar to the left and you will see the Green Bar at the top move left and it will show some gray color. Make sure only 1/8” to ¼” of gray color shows (this keeps you from burning to the outer edge of the disk))
4.Backup>select target device ( make sure this is your burner
5.Select Folder for temp files ( make sure this is the folder on the desktop you created Rip Movies)
    6.Click O.K.

Now DVD Shrink does Deep Analysis and then encodes the movie and then automatically burn the DVD using Nero

    Ses,
It is not the programs. They work fine for too many people . Get your computer checked out. If it is freezing there is a conflict somewhere.

First Ses, thank you for the guide to use dvd-shrink, I've used on dvd-"the One" from Jet Li, all movie are copied with Nero from DVD-9 to DVD-5, working perfect.

    Now for Car.Mike,
    I've use a Dell 4300 1.7GHz, and 512MB Memory.
In the background turning ANYDVD,DVD43, Norton Avirus, Zonealarmand Intervideo software.
The writer is a Sony DVD RW DRU-510A, firmware 1.0C, 32x by 24x, the reader is a NEC DV 5800A.
In Nero is a option in tools to select the Infotool, used that for looking up the reading and writing speed, when you do that save config in txt file, you can used anywhere for dive information.
The hardware conflict as freezing is possible a problem with not enough memory size for bring over the shrink files to Nero.
Look at this maybe I help here with the problem
