im no expert here but i do know what all the members will be asking you is that we need more info!!! what os you have, what burning programs, you have what kind of media are you using, what guides are you using, are you staying below that magic number of 4.36gb? and maybe for your next experiment you should get yourself some rw's. 20 coaster wow that hurts!! i use dvd shrink and nero and it works perfect for me using this guide....http://www.dvdshrink.info/ but i did have to uninstall roxio cause nero and roxio dont like each other. good luck to you!! jim
Im using dvd shrink 3.1 i have windows xp i think i do stay below the number because there is no red there is still some grey i have a liteon dvd burner the 8x dvd+r one and 4x dvd-r im using some no name brand dvd-rs from the computer show that were really cheap 100 for 35 bucks i juss burn the cd as is no re auther no nothing juss put it in it scans it then it encodes it then burns it but the burn never goes through.
well im not gonna say its your media.but thats some pretty cheap stuff. i dont think you said what burning program you use, nero, roxio, burnatonce, clonedvd, etc.
the more info you post, the easier it will be for these guys to tell you whats wrong and these guys know their stuff! im just saving them the trouble of having to ask the obvious,so they can help you faster! a fellow newbie trying to help jim_dandy
their is a new dvdshrink that you can configure with your burning software to omit the human error aspect. dvdshrink 314 good luck jim
alphaq, jim_dandy's advice about the media is right on. Your cheap media becomes very expensive when most of them fail. Before you burn anything else, go get a five pack of Ritek or Memorex etc, the good stuff costs more. R/Ws are another good suggestion by Jim. Experiment! Try different brands, try some +Rs. Sounds like you have Shrink 3.1.X and are letting Nero Auto-burn, right? jim_dandy, good replys IMO. Cheers, Frank _X_X_X_X_X_[small]motorcycle racer computer newbie Sony VAIO Suzuki GSXR1000[/small]
