I'm trying to burn a data DVD using files in a folder on my hard drive. The project is about 1936 MB and writes to where about 978 MB remains and the writing stops. I'm using a IO Magic dual format 8X DVD+/- RW burner with most of my background programs turned off. Tried to burn a 4x DVD+R TDK disk and a Memorex 16X DVD+R disk and both stop when about halfway through. The screen indicates that the burner is still working but I let it sit for about 45 minutes and the progress indicator stayed at about 50%. The machine selects its own write speed which with both disks was advertised to be about 1X. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help???
try better blank media ,Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim download nero and use it to tranfer the data ,you can control the burn speed with this program ,try it at 4x or 8x max.
