That's too slow of a burn since you've got an awesome Benq 1640.Quality media must be burned at least 8x for best results. Ty-g02: There are fakes out there. Look on the bottom side of the disc for a code near the inner hub for TGxx1234 or similar. You'll need a very bright light. The Ty-g02 MID code can be faked, not that batch code. This sounds like a no disc error. It means a stand alone player/s won't recognize there's a backup disc inserted into them. This is an easy fix with the benq drives. Download Qsuite-it's free: http://support.benq.com/front/BenqM...langu=null&ops=null&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined You'll need the plus format and set the booktype to dvd-rom. Nero can set the booktype on certain drives like the 1620,but not the 1640. Get the quality + format media, booktype them, and you will have the highest stand alone player compatability rate available. Booktyping fools those players into thinking they are dvd-rom format, which is the most universal of all dvd formats. Plus and dash are trickier on them. There's also other great programs for qsuite like: Solidburn,WOPC,qscan and overspeed protection. These q's will overburn 8x media to 12x and 16x if left at max burn. Overspeed protection takes care of that issue. Old firmware. Try updating here: http://support.benq.com/front/BenqM...langu=null&ops=null&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined BSRB is the latest firmware update.Firmware controls the writing strategy.
Just to add to what saugmon has suggested, you may like to update your Nero, both packages, from here http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
thanks for the help it work great upgradeing my benQ was the trick thanks you guys are the best!!!!!!
No problemo kennys!!! Your 1640 is perhaps the finest Benq drive out there- fabulous!!!! Try the qsuite out. A very nice program. If you encounter any drives out there-when playing your backups- that give you the No disc/dirty disc/wrong region/or wrong format- try plus format media and booktype them to dvd-rom. These benq drives highly favor the plus format. It's those stand alone players that can be tricky.Benqs are booktyping phenoms. Did you locate the batch number of your tys on the bottom of the disc?
I do not know. I see some light #s on center of disc they are ec628y109164gg on top of them are mc6 that are darker I got my dvd at supermediastore.com on case says dvd01x0374-001 area: b05-1 taiyo yuden shiny 8x dvd-
Those numbers don't ring a bell. Look at the inside-toward the hole-on the purple dye. It's outside of the silver inner ring-along the thin blue ring. Code should look similar to: GH00073 with the letters in upper case. It's gotta have 2 letters and 6 digits. There's also a very small 4 digit code as well. On my sony tys,I can read the batch code from the outside as well.
They are genuine tys!!! Ty-G02 can be faked, but not that batch #- so far. That eliminates the possibility of fake ty media. You may want to burn at 8x with those tys. When using quality media, these benqs perform better with the faster burning. 8x should be no problem. 4x should be ok. I get too many crc errors when I burned at 2.4x with Yudenooo-T02 and MCC-004 media. These verbatim and ty discs were designed to be burned faster, not slower. If you have any more issues, uninstall nero, run the nero cleantool 6, download nero6 again-leave out the INCD packets.Nero can be flaky at times. Anymore no disc errors on standalones-but that benq plays them perfect: Try plus format media and booktype them. Good luck on finding any drives that won't recognize those booktyped backups after that!!!!!! I'll attest to the dash being inferior when using Benq dvd-rw drives. Good Luck!!
