Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I recently bought an Acer Aspire 3500 (description at http://www.acer.ca/acerpanam/page9....ram=CA&LanguageISOCtxParam=en&crc=2673072735) and I'm pretty disappointed with it. The download speed is super slow, and the internet doesn't run very well. I'm planning on returning it this week (Friday is the last day) and I was wondering if you could tell me which of the following computers is best to buy. I'm sorry to burden you with this but I'm very computer illiterate! The couple of other computers I was looking at on the internet are HP Pavilion zv6130us (description at http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=201700462&loc=101&hdwt=0&sp=3) or Compaq V2305 (description at http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10063265&catid=20354) i wish that someone would compare these for me, and offer me the best possible solution. i hope this is resolved by tomorrow otherwise i'm stuck with this crap ass computer!!! thanks in advance to whoever replies~
fuckin hell that acer is a beast of a machine --- the download situation is your ISP not your actual computer, tell me -- does it have SP2? what is your internet connection speed?
hi thanks for replying. i'm using bell sympatico hi-speed... 56k dsl (speedstream 6520 modem). i don't think i have sp2 since it's not in the add/remove list. all my download programs say that everythings ok (i get the green light and everything) so i have no idea what else it could be. also, every other time i click or go to another browser it says "page cannot be displayed" which is getting REALLY annoying. so its not the acer? what's wrong with my connection then since everything 'says' it runs okay.
try the acer on another connection like rogers or shaw to see if still have the same problem. presuming you have built in netcard.
56k..... dude thats a very tiny speed so it will download at a max of 5-6-7, and the page cannot be displayed could be anything, tried installing a different internet browser, firefox for example? have u tried going to windows update?
